Instructions for Use - As Gastric Fluid Test Strips

Wash hands and put on gloves.
Extract gastric fluid.
Connect the syringe to the patient's nasogastric tube opening. First, slowly inject approximately 1 to 2 ml of air into the stomach (to help push the gastric wall away from the tube tip), then gently pull back until gastric fluid is observed entering the syringe.
Apply sample.
Gently drip 1-2 drops of gastric fluid from the syringe onto the test strip (all four color squares should be moistened).
Observe if the color of the test strip changes.
Compare with the colors on the packaging box to determine the pH value.
