Instructions for use - as gastric fluid test strips
- Wash hands and wear gloves
- Aspirate gastric fluid
Connect the syringe to the patient's nasogastric tube opening. First, slowly inject about 1 to 2 ml of air into the stomach (to help push the stomach wall away from the tube tip), then gently aspirate outwards until gastric fluid is seen entering the syringe. - Apply sample
Gently drip 1-2 drops of gastric fluid from the syringe onto the test strip (all four color pads should be moistened) - Observe if the test strip changes color
- Compare with the colors on the packaging box to determine the pH value
