扳機指-肌腱鞘發炎的信號

Introduction:

Don't misunderstand "trigger finger" – it has nothing to do with pistols! However, it is a condition worth noting, primarily characterized by a sensation of catching, weakness, or pain when bending or straightening a finger. This condition is common among people who repeatedly use their fingers for extended periods, such as office workers. When you experience this condition, it may indicate inflammation of the tendon sheath, which could have serious consequences if left untreated for too long!

Causes

The cause of trigger finger is mainly related to tendon sheath damage and inflammation. Prolonged repetitive use of fingers, especially when applying excessive pressure while bending or straightening fingers, can lead to inflammation or thickening of the tendon sheath. This can cause the tendon to get stuck within the sheath, making finger movement difficult or painful.

Symptoms

The main symptom of trigger finger is a catching or locking sensation when bending or straightening the finger. The finger may produce a "popping" sound or feeling when you try to bend or straighten the affected finger. You may also experience pain, swelling, or a burning sensation. In some cases, the finger may become locked in a bent or straightened position, requiring assistance from another finger or hand to release it.

Impact

Trigger finger can lead to limited finger movement, affecting daily activities and work efficiency. Long-term trigger finger can lead to further damage to finger muscles and tendons, exacerbating symptoms.

Prevention

Adequate rest: Regularly rest your fingers and avoid prolonged repetitive use.

Strengthen muscles: Perform finger and hand stretching and strengthening exercises to increase finger muscle strength and flexibility.

Use assistive tools: When performing tasks that require repetitive finger use, consider using assistive tools or devices to reduce the burden on your fingers.

Mind your posture: Maintain good posture, avoid excessive bending or straightening of the hand, and reduce pressure on your fingers.

Warm or cold compress: When experiencing pain or swelling, you can alternate between warm and cold compresses to alleviate symptoms.
