Can Donald Duck also have flat feet?
Donald Duck is a household name, but have you ever considered Donald Duck's health?
Looking at Donald Duck's big yellow webbed feet, every inch of his webbed feet touches the ground when he walks. In fact, Donald Duck most likely suffers from flat feet! Below is a brief description of the causes, symptoms, effects, and simple prevention methods of flat feet:

Causes
Can be divided into physiological and pathological.
1) Physiological
Physiological flat feet are caused by the presence of a lot of subcutaneous fat and loose ligaments in the arch during early development, which results in an unclear arch.
2) Pathological
One of the reasons for pathological flat feet may be incorrect walking posture, which causes the inner thigh adductor muscles and calf muscles to relax, leading to increased burden on the knee joint and flattening of the arch. If one does not exercise enough or loses muscle due to aging, the feet need a larger area to touch the ground to maintain stability, thereby causing the arch to disappear.

Symptoms
Usually, the inner arch of the foot disappears, and the arch of the sole becomes flat.
Physiological flat feet are common in children. The elastic arch disappears when weight-bearing, such as standing and walking. When sitting or lying down, the arch reappears. As the arch develops, the condition usually improves significantly after the age of ten.
For pathological flat feet, mild cases may not have any symptoms. In severe cases or when flat feet are neglected for a long time, since the arch has become flat, it cannot provide elasticity and can only rely on the plantar muscle fascia tissue for elasticity. This can easily lead to pressure accumulation in the plantar fascia and heel, causing pain and fatigue in the feet. The inner side of the shoe heel may also wear out easily, leading to calluses.

Impact
If it is physiological flat feet, as children grow, subcutaneous fat decreases, and ligaments gradually strengthen, the arch will become more prominent. There are usually no symptoms.

Prevention
1. Choose shoes of the right size; do not buy shoes that are too big or too small. They should be flexible, breathable, provide effective arch support, and ideally have anti-slip and shock-absorbing functions.
2. Do more foot stretching and arch muscle exercises to maintain arch elasticity.
3. Wear insoles with arch support design to stimulate arch muscle contraction, reduce the burden on arch muscles, and help maintain the correct arch.
